I work with adults of all genders, with a special focus on supporting women. I offer a warm, welcoming space where you can slow down, feel heard and talk through what’s been weighing on you. We’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable, whether you’re looking for practical support, a deeper understanding of yourself or a bit of both.
What we may work on
Maybe you’re overthinking every interaction, feeling anxious or depressed, carrying grief or past trauma, or struggling under the weight of other people’s expectations. You may be so used to keeping everyone else going that you’ve started to feel alone in it all. We can begin with whatever feels heaviest right now.
Support after difficult or harmful experiences, including sexual harm, with attention to safety, choice and your pace.
Support for the loss of a loved one, a pet or a relationship of any kind, including grief before a loss and complicated feelings when you’re unsure how to feel. We can also explore the changes loss can bring to your identity, relationships and daily life.
Support with anxiety, depression, low self-worth, self-criticism and thoughts that keep circling long after the moment has passed.
Support with self-acceptance, 2SLGBTQIA+ experiences, body image, spirituality and making room for more of who you truly are, not who others expect you to be or who you feel you should be.
Caregiving, body image, reproductive mental health, work-life pressure, imposter syndrome and the weight of competing expectations.
Recognizing your needs, communicating them and changing patterns that leave you depleted or disconnected.
What to expect
I believe therapy works best when you feel truly heard, respected and able to move at a pace that feels right for you. I’ll follow your lead while helping you make sense of what you’re feeling, notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck and find practical ways to feel a little more steady.
Depending on what you need, I may draw from person-centred, emotion-focused, trauma-focused, ACT, CBT, mindfulness, narrative, somatic and strengths-based approaches. If this all sounds confusing, don’t worry! You do not need to understand any of them before starting. We can talk through them during your free consultation and throughout therapy, and I’ll always explain what we’re doing and why.
We can focus on what feels hardest right now, explore things more deeply or find a balance between both.
I want to be the kind of person my younger self needed.
Maeve, in her own words
What I bring to the therapy space
I bring nearly a decade of experience in healthcare, non-profit, mental health and addictions settings. Over the years, I’ve supported people through trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, grief and major life changes.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I also bring my own lived experience with depression, anxiety and grief, which helps me offer a space that feels real, grounded and human. There is room here for honesty, gentleness and even a little humour, without pressure, judgment or toxic positivity.
